Are They Serious?
Can the music industry execs possibly be serious?
The way I see it, the music industry wants a DRM scheme that will protect their interests. So, to let Apple resell their music (however ill-gotten), they make Apple come up with a DRM scheme.
But uh-oh, Apple makes a DRM scheme that works TOO well. So well, in fact, that Apple is making money hand over fist while the music industry doesn’t.
Well, the music industry DEFINITELY didn’t see that one coming, so now they’re panicked and trying to make it look like Jobs is the bad guy by calling for “Open DRM” (please notice the oxymoron).
News flash Music Industry, the “openness” of DRM isn’t the problem. The DRM is the problem. These guys…they just don’t get it, do they?
