Add this to my list of “Must See Summer Movies.”
Unbalanced Audio?
I’ve been silently suffering with a weird OS X bug for some time now. The bug manifests itself by unbalancing your audio as you increase/decrease the volume on your Mac. The only time I notice it is when I’m listening to music that uses the right/left channels independently, but it happens enough to drive me literally crazy.
Well, I’ve found a solution to the problem. Some...
It took so much effort not to make an effort; oh what a flawless design.

A Friday List of 5:
Applications I MUST Have On My Mac:
Quicksilver - a Mac without Quicksilver isn’t a Mac, IMO.
Adium - iChat can kiss my butt.
NewsFire - RSS is my heroin.
CoverSutra - my iTunes album art never looked so good.
AppZapper - the ZAP! sound alone is worth $13.
Sadly, 3 of the 5 cost money, but each is well worth the cost.

The 52 Most Important Video Games Ever →
While I agree for the most part with the list, I don’t agree that GTA3 is No. 1. GTA3 may not have ever existed without Super Mario 64. SM64 may not have ever existed without Super Mario Bros., and SMB may not have ever existed without Pong. So, on the one hand, the list does a great job of noting which games were important, I think it ignores historical relevance just a little. ...

It’s good to know that Apple can move past this bump in the road and get back to what they do best.
Have They All Gone Crazy?
Taking a cue from this article, I’m forced to stop and wonder what Big Business is thinking?
At what point did Big Business decide it made more sense to foolishly cling to an old-world business model than to start looking for what comes next? Every time I hear the RIAA is suing another poor college student or refusing to at least consider decently priced, DRM-free music, I’m left...

Anyone else think that’ll be the exact moment when YouTube jumps the shark?
A 3hr Keynote?! →
I have a difficult time imagining what they’ll need 3 hours to debut/demo, but rest assured the rumor mill is about to kick into high gear. Update: Aw, turns out it’s just the normal 1.5hr keynote. Bummer.

5 6 Podcasts That Don’t Suck: Diggnation from Revision3 All Songs Considered from NPR Fresh Air from NPR TWiT from the TWiT Network MacBreak Weekly from the TWiT Network Chilled Podcast from ThinkPenguinThey might be a little esoteric (3 are tech related, and 2 are music related), but all are generally excellent quality and worth the time it takes to listen to them. All are weekly...
Labels to ask Apple for iTunes subscription model →
I’d like to go on record saying that I don’t have a problem with this as long as subscription isn’t the ONLY option available.

Passover Coke
I had always heard that Passover Coke existed, but haven’t yet had a chance to try it. Well, sitting on my desk at this very moment is a 2-liter bottle of Coke made with sucrose instead of high-fructose corn syrup (because HFCS isn’t considered kosher during Passover). I know, it seems like a silly thing to be excited about, but I cannot wait to try it.
UPDATE: It’s good, but...

Posting about posting...
I spent part of my weekend writing two technical articles for a website that’s about to launch. The articles are “low-level” articles about using the Terminal in OS X to accomplish tasks that might otherwise cost money, and truth be told, I’m proud of the articles. To my surprise, I discovered during the writing that I actually enjoy writing technical articles. So much so...
Easter Sunday
The time spent in church for the Easter service today was made complete by the child sitting next to me who spent the entire service drawing heinous, large-toothed monsters eating entire cities of people.

Wired's "The See-Through CEO"
I received my latest copy of Wired last week, and the main article was one of the best pieces Wired has produced in some time. The article, “The See-Through CEO,” detailed the relatively new practice of company/CEO blogs. Citing a few specific examples, the article espoused that these “naked” companies actually gain the trust of existing and potential customers by talking...
